The final at the World e-Sports Masters will kick off Saturday morning - mTw takes on mousesports.Fi
To some of you it has been the first time playing in Asia. Tell us what the gaming and fan culture is like in Asia, compared to what you are use to in Europe?
It is crazy and nothing like the culture in Europe. The gaming culture is something that every pro-gamer has to experience because we are being treated like football stars - writing autographs, taking pictures with fans and being watched everywhere we go. It is one of the experiences that I will cherish most from my career.
The World e-Sports Masters organization has organized one hell of a stage show, making it fun to watch as a spectator. Does the show put a more professional aspect to playing a match, or is it just like playing any given match?
I don't know if it's more professional, however, it is certainly not like any given match since we have a live audience right in front of us cheering each time we're making frags etc. Besides that we're waiting behind the curtains before the show goes live and as our "theme-song" is being played we're all getting more hyped and ready to play the game!
A discussed subject at World e-Sports Masters is the scene setup. Dragon supposedly won by ghosting versus MYM, have you encountered any suspicious scenarios while being on stage and what are your thoughts on the setup?
The match between Dragon and MYM seemed a bit odd at times and the Chinese should have received a warning or a penalty a lot earlier than they did because it was obvious that they took their headsets off after they had been killed and with a Chinese commentary it must have been hard not telling your team-mates about your opponents positions. We haven't faced any.
Since your exit from the Global Challenge in Dubai, the team has not yet lost a match. A finished word by zonic on ESLTV just after your loss to GamePlay was ”we will just go on”. Your team has been one of the most consisting teams of the 2008 season, is it a key factor that you will just go on, no matter what happens?
Consistency is important in my eyes and you have to fight to be the best and through the tough times it's hard but in the end it will pay off. My first tournament with mTw.AMD was SEC and some might remember that it wasn't exactly a success, however, we came out stronger and now we are one of the best teams in the world. But I think it is a result of great team chemistry. We're almost always having a laugh together.
The top teams have been beating each other over and over again the past months and we do not see any dominant force in Counter-Strike right now. Is Counter-Strike still a random game?
It is still a very random game and when some tournaments choose to play with BO1 it makes it harder for teams to be dominant. Besides that all the teams are putting a lot more effort into the whole game than before.
Tomorrow you will be playing your third major final of the season mousesports. It has been some time since you last faced the Germans in an official match. Last time was a loss in the Extreme Masters II season. How well do you know mousesports and how well do mousesports know you?
I think it's safe to say that we are probably the two teams that have been studying each other the most and it's going to be a great fight.
The final will start out on dust2, a map known to be a dominant terrorist map, a map mousesports have been showing strong CT play on. How do expect to counter mousesports and would you rather face mousesports on dust2 or train?
I think that we will counter mousesports quite okay and dust2 is defiantly not a weak map anymore because we have done some changes in our CT-play, however, train wouldn't be a bad map-pick for us.
Second map will be inferno, an mTw have been really strong on during the entire season. It is however said that the successful tactics you have build up, have been copied by mousesports, do you have new material in the goodie-bag for tomorrow?
I'm sure that ave has some material that will bring us to victory and that mouz can copy after the final ;)
World Cyber Games is coming and you have been on your world tour since the beginning of October. How well prepared will you be, without any time at home to build up new tactics?
I think tournaments and official matches are some of the best preparation that a team can get, however, we will go to Cologne and bootcamp for 1-2 days before WCG.
Last but not least, a good luck in the final tomorrow versus mousesports. Time to fire off your shoutouts to fans, sponsors etc.
Thank you very much and I would like to thank mTw and all of our sponsors and thanks to the fans that have been sticking with us through our latest downs.
